A cargo of 20billion euros in cash (£16.75billion) has lain unclaimed at a Moscow airport for six years amid allegations it could be the secret fortune of Saddam Hussein.

The stash, now under high security in a cargo depot, is held on 200 wooden pallets each worth 100 million euros, enough to keep the entire NHS going for almost two months.

Russian customs have demanded the real owner of the booty "presents himself" to claim the fortune, but while a number of bogus and unconvincing attempts have been made to obtain it, no-one has satisfied the authorities that they are the rightful recipient.

The rifle above belonged to a brutal dictator who gassed to death thousands of his own citizens and had the gall to erect a giant arch modeled after his own fists. Now it can be yours for an estimated $7,500 to $15,000.

The Rock Island Auction Company is auctioning off Saddam Hussein's personal Ruger M77 bolt-action rifle, which has changed hands several times since the days when Hussein allegedly held the gun aloft during rallies (the Illinois-based firearms auction house is also selling a pocket pistol "attributed to Adolf Hitler," if you're in the market). According to an affidavit posted on the company's website, a Sufi militia group found the rifle in the rubble of the presidential palace in Baghdad soon after the beginning of the American invasion in 2003. The group then "turned over" the rifle to the CIA in 2004. When the Baghdad station chief at the time retired from the agency in 2012, the CIA gave him the rifle. He is now putting it up for auction, as he explains in signed documents on Rock Island's site.

My Comment: $15,000 for Saddam Hussein's rifle that he may have used once in a while .... hmmmm .... no. But (I must confess) I would easily spend $50,000 for this AK-47. ... the only problem that I have is that if I am successful (in my dreams), I cannot have it in Canada where I live (AK-47s are banned).

With names like Pineapple Grenade, Even Keel, Night Vision and New Recruit, two Iraq war veterans are hoping to tap into the popularity of craft beers by opening a brewery that sells brews named in military lingo.

Thomas Wilder and Neil McCanon, best friends since junior high, were both deployed to Iraq during the war, Wilder as a combat engineer equipment operator and McCanon as an armored crewman.

When Wilder, who has always enjoyed brewing beer, returned from Iraq in 2005, he had trouble finding work.
