Syrian Rebels Say Saudi Arabia Is Stepping Up Weapons Deliveries -- New York Times

BEIRUT, Lebanon — Saudi Arabia, quietly cooperating with American and British intelligence and other Arab governments, has modestly increased deliveries of weapons to rebels fighting in southern Syria, the rebels say.

But the shipments have not been large enough to assuage rebel frustration that they are being abandoned, as the United States shifts its focus to a possible Russian-initiated deal to quarantine the Syrian government’s chemical weapons, or to ease anxieties among the Persian Gulf leaders who have been the rebels’ primary backers.

My Comment: The Saudis have always made their intentions on what needs to happen in Syria very clear to everyone .... and I suspect that they are not going to back down in their attempts to overthrow Assad.

Saudi Arabia Is 'On Board' For An International Military Strike On Syria

Kerry: Saudi Arabia OK With International Military Strike On Syria -- CNN

Paris (CNN) -- U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry, speaking Sunday from Paris, where he met with Arab League ministers, said Saudi Arabia has approved international military intervention in Syria.

"They support the strike," Kerry said after meeting with Saudi foreign minister Saud al-Faisal.

Saudi Arabia is a diplomatic heavyweight in the Arab world, but hasn't publicly called for an international military reprisal after a reported chemical weapons attack last month by the Syrian military against rebels.

With its vast air force and bases, Saudi Arabia could offer a lot of resources to Western militaries.

My Comment: It is no secret that the Saudis want the Assad regime gone .... including paying for a full scale invasion of Syria.
