Bradley Manning: 'I’m Sorry That My Actions Hurt The United States' -- Christian Science Monitor

Army Pfc. Bradley Manning, in the sentencing phase of his court martial, apologized for leaking classified items to WikiLeaks. Manning's lawyers put much of the blame on Army officers who failed to address his emotional troubles.

In one of the rare times when he has spoken during his court martial, US Army Pfc. Bradley Manning apologized Wednesday for leaking hundreds of thousands of classified documents when he was an intelligence analyst in Iraq.

"I'm sorry that my actions hurt people,” he told the court. “I'm sorry that it hurt the United States.”

"I should have worked more aggressively within the system,” Pfc. Manning said. “Unfortunately, I can't go back and change things. I understand I must pay a price for my decisions.”

CIA, FBI, And NSA Taking Steps To Limit Intelligence Leaks -- CNBC

Three of the nation's top intelligence officials say their agencies are taking steps to limit access to classified data following recent intelligence leaks by the likes of PFC Bradley Manning and NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

CIA Director John Brennan, NSA Director Keith Alexander and FBI Director Robert Mueller made a rare joint appearance at a cyber security conference at Fordham University in New York Thursday.

Alexander, whose agency is under fire for its surveillance programs, said the NSA is working to reduce "by 90 percent" the number of system administrators—instead using technology so fewer individuals come into contact with sensitive information.

My Comment: I suspect that they are going to be successful in clamping down on intelligence leaks .... but everyone knows that the biggest leaker of information has always come from this building .... and no one is going to stop them.
