Spanish School Stages 'Invasion' Of Gibraltar -- The Telegraph
A school in Spain has been criticised for apparently enacting an invasion of Gibraltar, with camouflage-clad children brandishing plastic guns to shoot dead Union Jack-wearing "Britons".
In footage of the satirical play posted on YouTube, a group of socks-and-sandal wearing "Britons," carrying Union Jack placards and wearing the flag on their T-shirts, place their deck chairs in the centre of the auditorium, to the sound of the National Anthem.
Parents and fellow students watch from the sidelines as a tank arrives, accompanied by students dressed in military fatigues and carrying guns.
The music switches to The Clash's Spanish Bombs as the giggling "soldiers" open fire on the "Britons" in Gibraltar, who fall to the ground.
The video appeared to have been posted by Julián Trullenque Anés, who has worked for the Brianda de Luna school in the small town of AlfajarÃn, near Zaragoza.
"What an embarrassment – if this is a college play look what culture they are teaching them," wrote one man in Spanish on YouTube.
