Argentina Embarrassed As Spain DENIES Pact To Force UK To Leave Falklands And Gibraltar -- Express
A DIPLOMATIC row is brewing between Spain and Argentina over the Falklands after the south Americans announced the two countries would unite against Britain over the disputed islands.
Spain refuted Argentine claims they had reached agreement on "joint actions" against the UK to encourage them to negotiate on the Falklands' sovereignty.
The Argentine announcement came after the two countries' foreign ministers met in New York where they were attending the UN General Assembly.
Argentine officials also misspelt the name of Spain's Foreign Minister on an official press release, calling him Jose Maria Margallo instead of Jose Manuel Garcia-Margallo.
Sources within Moncloa, Spain's 10 Downing Street, told respected Spanish newspaper El Pais it did not endorse the version offered by the Argentine authorities.
The source added: "Spain considers the United Kingdom a friend."

My Comment: So much for Argentina's earlier press release that Spain will join with Argentina in pressing the U.K. for it's territories. the reason for this split stems from last years Argentinian nationalization of Repsol's oil assets in it's country. Relations have not been normal since then.
